FTVLive told you that many viewers thought that KTVU Anchor Frank Somerville was anchoring the news drunk after he was slurring his words and making no sense during the newscast.

Somerville claimed that he mixed up his meds and took sleeping pills before going on air.

Now, after being silent on the incident, KTVU has finally come out and said that Somerville will take an indefinite leave of absence. “We can confirm Frank is taking time away from the desk to focus on his health and we welcome his return when he is ready,” said a spokesperson for The Firm.

The slurring newscast took place Sunday night. About 15 minutes into the show, Somerville vanished from the newscast and has not been seen back on the air since.
