New Hire in NOLA

WDSU (New Orleans) announced that Meteorologist Art Jarrett has joined the station and will give the weather on WDSU News This Morning, weekday mornings from 4:30 a.m. to 7 a.m.

Jarrett joins WDSU from KSBW and Central Coast ABC, the Hearst-owned NBC/ABC duopoly in the Monterey-Salinas, California market, where he started on weekends in 2010 and moved into the role of weekday morning meteorologist in 2015.

While Jarrett’s family is originally from the Bahamas, he says he has always wanted to live in New Orleans — a desire he developed from his father who consistently brought him to the Crescent City throughout his childhood.

“My father always had us stop in New Orleans on our way to and from the Bahamas. We would stroll the streets and revel in the city’s beauty and, of course, indulge in some of the world-famous food,” Jarrett recalled. “I couldn’t be more excited to experience Southeast Louisiana as a permanent resident. Of course, joining the talented team of Randi Rousseau and Chad Sabadie on WDSU News This Morning and to work alongside Margaret Orr, one of the best meteorologists in the business, is a dream come true!”

He starts later this month.
