FTVLive Becomes Part of the Ivory Hecker, Fox TV Saga

Ivory Hecker basically ruined her chance of working for a legitimate news outlet again, when she embarrassed her station, KRIV (Houston), and through Fox Television under the bus during a live shot in the newscast.

Hecker was suspended and then fired from the station and is now releasing videos to try and further embarrass Fox and KRIV.

In one of the videos that Hecker released, she had recorded a number of zoom calls with herself, KRIV News Director Susan Schiller, and a station HR employee.

Hecker claims that the station wrote her up after this story was published to FTVLive.

Hecker was written up after FTVLive posted the story, but KRIV seemed to backdate when Hecker was warned from August to July.

Hecker lawyered up and KRIV and Fox caved in and shredded the letter that was placed in her file.

Hecker said that KRIV/Fox was too worried about FTVLive, which Hecker described as a “gossip site” that the viewers in Houston don’t read.

The KRIV HR executive admits that Fox corporate, “is extremely sensitive” about FTVLive and that means everyone working for Fox should be as well.

As for the TV viewers in Houston that Hecker says don’t read FTVLive, she is wrong.

While FTVLive is geared towards people working and around TV news, we ourselves are quite surprised at the number of viewers that read this site.

And, before Hecker released this recording of her conversations with her bosses, FTVLive got this email:

Scott,

While I don’t work in TV news I am a reader of your website. Watching the Ivory Hecker drama playout is better than any reality TV show.

If the station would have only paid attention to your warnings about Hecker, they might not be in the boat they are in.

I was a viewer of KRIV for many years, but Hecker’s actions and the stories I saw on your site had me change the channel.

Keep up the great work.

Sorry, your vacation got ruined.

As Hecker uses up her last few minutes of her 15 minutes of fame, this on-air incident will haunt KRIV for years.

It also shows news managers that you never know when your words and actions are being recorded.
