FTVLive showed you the video of KRIV (Houston) Reporter Ivory Hecker torpedoing her career in a single live shot in which she trashed the station and Fox after being tossed to live on a story.

Now, Hecker is making sure that she will never work at a legitimate TV news operation again (not that there was much chance of that).

Hecker released audio of a call between herself and KRIV Assistant News Director Lee Meier in which the Deuce informs her that she is “suspended, effective immediately.”

You just had a Reporter embarrass the station and Fox Television live on the air and she has been “suspended pending further review”?

How much needs to be reviewed.

Hecker should have been fired when she tossed it back to the studio.

Also, where is KRIV News Director Susan Schiller? You have a controversy that is blowing up and you make the Assistant News Director make the call?

WTF?

Clearly, Hecker should be fired and never seen on a TV newscast again.

But, Fox Television needs to look deeper into this incident that has them with so much egg on their face they wouldn’t need to be served another breakfast for a year.

FTVLive pointed out many times in the past that Hecker was a liability for the station and yet management never appeared to address it.

Also, why, when she started to trash the station and Fox didn’t the control room cut her audio or punch out of the live shot? The fact that Hecker was able to criticize Fox and without being cut off is remarkable in a market the size of Houston.

Did those in the control room know that it was coming and let her rant live? Or did they just freeze?

KRIV will be known for years for this incident. But, it also appears that the management could have stopped this before it happened and could have taken better action as it was happening.

Update: Now the word is she has been fired and hopefully never to be seen on TV News again.
