About That Live Truck Being Sold on Craigslist
Yesterday, FTVLive told you that it appeared that KNSD (San Diego) has placed one of their live trucks up for sale on Craigslist.
Well, Jeff Entner who is the Facilities Manager (never heard of that job position before) at KNSD emailed FTVLive and he did not like our “gossip posting” and that the station is not the one that placed the ad on Craigslist.
“We DONATED the van to the “Vehicles for Veterans” program, as a charitable donation. It was supposed to be “de-LOGO’d” and then sold in private auction. It appears one of them has placed it on Craigslist, much to our surprise…” Enter said in the email.
He then added, “Not really a fan of the way you are suggesting that someone might use one of our former pieces of equipment to cheat handicapped parking spaces.”
We agree with you Jeff and that is why we call out stations and news crews that park illegally because they think they can.
We did say in our story that “it appeared” that KNSD was selling the news van on Craigslist. Maybe if the station took the time to take the logos off the van before donating it, it would not have appeared that way.
For a TV station, the brand is of the utmost importance, letting the live truck leave the station parking lot to a third party with the logos still on it was not a wise move if you ask us.
