I’m sure that the hundreds of people that were laid off at Meredith owned stations will be happy to know that Meredith’s WFSB in Hartford has given away $20,000 to some lucky viewers.

It seems that after making the cuts, which included longtime WFSB Anchor Dennis House, WFSB resorted to bribing the viewers to watch their station during the May book.

The station gave away a grand a day for 20 days in an effort to get more people to tune into their newscast.

Now the book is over, the money is gone and I’m sure that those that were kicked to the curb by Meredith, really appreciate seeing that twenty thousand dollars was used to try and bribe viewers.

Hopefully when Gray takes over the Meredith stations, they will do a bit better job of spending the company’s money.
