Allen Media to Snatch Up Gray's Castoffs
When Gray announced that they were going to buy the Quincy Media stations, there were a number of stations that Gray needed to sell-off due to overlap in markets where Gray already owned a station.
Gray has announced that they are selling those stations to Allen Media.
The company run by Byron Allen will pick up KVOA in Arizona, KWWL in Iowa and WREX in Illinois; WKOW in Wisconsin, WSIL/KPOB in Kentucky/Illinois and WAOW/WMOW in Wisconsin.
Allen is paying just under $400 million for the stations.
“I truly appreciate Gray and Quincy, two of the best broadcast groups in the business, working with us to acquire and transfer these amazing assets. Over the past year-and-a-half, we've invested close to $1 billion to acquire best-in-class, top-tier, broadcast network affiliates,” Allen said in a statement.
He says the goal to to buy more stations in the future.
