KWTV Anchor Kelly Ogle is being taken off the 5PM newscast and he claims that the change was all his idea.

Ogle when on the air saying:

For a while now, I've been itching to have a little more time to report, to follow up on some of the stories I've covered over the last 35 years and see whatever happened to them. Also, to take you to some of my favorite places in Oklahoma.

It's difficult to do that kind of reporting when you're anchoring three newscasts a day.

So starting Tuesday, our buddy Karl Torp will hold down the 5 p.m. newscast with Amanda and David, and I'll continue to be here at 6 and 10.

It must be nice to have a job in TV news where you can do whatever you want and change your own schedule to your liking.

Then again…..I’m sure all of you can do the same at your job…..right?

The cynic in me does not completely buy what Ogle is trying to sell.
