Sadly, one story that is dominating the media right now, is the rapidly rising hate crimes against the Asian community.

We are seeing attack after attack against a group of people that are being blamed for the creation and spread of COVID-19.

Images and videos of attacks on Asian people, often elderly are infuriating and so sad at the same time.

Donald Trump helped raise this anger against the Asian community when he continued to refer to the coronavirus as the “China Virus.”

Despite a number of Asian organizations pleading with Trump and others to stop referring to the virus as the “China Virus”, or the “Wuhan Virus”, as it leads to anger against the Asian community, many continue to do so.

Nexstar’s WCMH in Columbus went so far as to use the offensive term to drive traffic to their live poll on their website:

In looking at the WCMH meet the team page on their website, it appears that the station does not have any Asian representation in their on-air staff.

Maybe if they did, that person could have informed the station how offensive this push alert was, all it an effort to get clicks.

I’m sorry, but I would think that WCMH go do better…..much better.
