Two days ago, election systems company Smartmatic sued Fox News and some of its stars for nearly $3 billion dollars.

After the lawsuit was filed, Fox News released a statement calling the suit “meritless.”

Yesterday, Fox dumped Lou Dobbs, who is named in the lawsuit and who spread false information about the election.

Meritless?

Fox just pulled the guy that drew the highest ratings on the Fox Business Network, because of a meritless lawsuit?

I don’t think so.

Many at Fox News wanted to continue to try and keep Donald Trump in the White House and they were more than willing to spread conspiracy theories and lies to try and make that happen.

Well, it was all fun until a company drops a $3 billion dollar lawsuit on you that is anything but meritless.

Not that we’re crying for Lou Dobbs mind you.

FTVLive has been calling on Fox News to fire Dobbs for years.

We have had conversations with Fox management, asking them flat out, how does Fox keep Lou Dobbs?

In October of 2018, FTVLive posted a story that included tweet that Lou Dobbs sent out after bombs were being found around the country. Dobbs tried to claim that the bombs were not real and it was being faked.

Fox News did nothing after that.

In that 2018 story we wrote:

How can Fox stand by and let this idiot send out stuff like this and not do anything?

How do you send out a tweet about bombs and hashtag it #MAGA?

Cable news is dividing this country even more so than Donald Trump, the Republicans or the Democrats.

The cable news bosses will continue to let this happen, as long as the money keeps rolling in.

But now, we have bombs being sent to people and if you think it’s going to stop here, you’re wrong.

It is just a matter of time before some person is fed enough hate from cable news that they will act, people will die and lives will be ruined.

Will the network executives act then?

And to show you we were on the money, it was one month ago today that Trump supporters laid siege on the U.S. Capitol.

Do you really think that the rhetoric spread by Dobbs and others at Fox News did not play a role in the MAGA anger?

Fox made the right move pulling the plug on Dobbs. Sadly, they couldn’t do what was right until they got served with a multi-billion dollar lawsuit.

If they don’t do the same thing with Maria Bartiromo and Jeanine Pirro, then Dobbs is nothing more than the sacrificial lamb in all this.
