Could Non-Competes be Outlawed in Ohio?
This could be great news for people that work in TV news.
A bill has been introduced in the Ohio legislator that would ban the non-compete clause in TV contracts in the Buckeye state.
Utah recently passed the bill and more states are doing so.
It would mean that if you left a TV station, you would not be bond by a non-compete clause that would stop you from taking a job across the street.
While your boss would love to have the non-compete clause stay in place, it is good news for those that work in TV news under a contract.
Let’s hope the Ohio legislator pushes this bill through.
You can bet that many media companies will be lobbying against it passing.
