Leaving TV News to Be an Influencer
FTVLive has written a number of stories about KTLA Anchor Liberté Chan and how she often crossed the line on social media from a TV newsperson to an influencer.
Chan pitches products and services on her station-branded social media account, despite the fact that it goes against Nexstar policy.
Well, insiders tell FTVLive that Chan will be signing off from the station this weekend and is going to become a full-time influencer.
Chan often uses her social media to flaunt her wealth. She inherited family money and has a rich fiancee. She posts pictures of her traveling the world on a private jet and visiting exotic locations.
So, if the influencer gig doesn’t work out, she should be just fine financially.
At KTLA, Chan did the weather on the weekend AM shift, and 2 days s week, she worked on the 11, 12, 1, 3 PM newscasts on Mondays & Tuesdays.
FTVLive has often said you can be a Journalist, or you can be an influencer, but you can’t be both.
It took a while, but we give Liberté Chan props for picking one over the other.
Good luck to her in the influencer world.
