KTVT (Dallas) posted a tweet and a link to a story that basically seem to just regurgitate a press release from the police department.

The story posted on the CBS O&O’s website says that:

The 25-year-old woman from Chicago who was on a layover at the airport, contained blankets and two large bubble envelopes filled with $106,829 in cash.

The woman who owned the bag was not arrested, but the money was seized and police say it will be subject to the civil asset forfeiture process.

A number of people responded to the station’s social media post with the same question that I have:

I think the station missed the mark on asking the bigger questions on this story.
