In a weekend news dump, CNN announced on Saturday that they had fired Chris Cuomo.

It was something that CNN should have done months ago, but finally just got around to do.

Cuomo showed a lack of journalistic ethics, appeared to have lied about his involvement in trying to keep his brother Andrew in the NY Governor’s mansion and used his contacts to try dig up dirt on Andrew’s accusers.

CNN should have been looking into this the minute the allegations of Chris’s actions surfaced, but they did nothing.

It took a story in the New York Times and well deserved heat of CNN head Jeff Zucker, before he would suspend him for his actions.

Now CNN has used the weekend to announce that they have fired Chris Cuomo.

CNN released a statement saying, “"Chris Cuomo was suspended earlier this week pending further evaluation of new information that came to light about his involvement with his brother's defense. We retained a respected law firm to conduct the review, and have terminated him, effective immediately."

"While in the process of that review, additional information has come to light," CNN's statement added. "Despite the termination, we will investigate as appropriate."

CNN should have been investigating Cuomo’s actions weeks ago, but only did so after the Times story.

Chris Cuomo should have been fired and let’s be honest here, Jeff Zucker should be as well.
