Longtime Buffalo Reporter George Richert says that his time is almost up at the Nexstar station.

Richert says that later next month he will sign off from WIVB and it is something that he has been dreaming about doing. “I turn 55 in May,” he wrote. “I have dreamed of retirement for many years and I feel comfortable that I finally can do it. It’s as simple as that.”

“There is no underlying reason or surprise ending in why I am retiring," wrote Richert. "It was an exciting way to make a living, but now I can’t wait to do more of what I consider to be the LIVING part,” he told the BHuffalo News.

I think there are many in TV news that might feel the same way.

He signs off on January 21st.
