WFLA Anchor/Reporter Melanie Michael has been off the air after being injured while covering the Tampa Bay Lightning home-opener for the station.

Michael posted that she is “recovering from a severe brain injury & spinal injuries” after she hit her head on the pavement.

Station insiders tell FTVLive that Michael grabbed an equipment cart in an attempt to sit down. It rolled and she fell.
