In a Patron Only story, FTVLive told you that Gray Television was going to put a strong focus on WGCL (Atlanta) after taking the station over from Meredith.

In another Patron Only story, FTVLive told you that Gray was replacing WGCL GM Deborah Collura and we wrote, “Some newsroom staffers are wondering how long News Director Matt King will be lasting. King has been at the station less than two years and the bets are he doesn't make it 6 months more at the station.”

Forget 6 months, it appears he didn’t make it 6 days.

A number of sources in Atlanta tell FTVLive that Matt King is out at the troubled station.

It appears that Gray is looking to start anew with management and Gray has already named WOIO (Cleveland) GM Erick Schrader as Collura's replacement.

Does that mean that current WOIO News Director Ian Rubin will come in to replace King?

As one WOIO staffer said to FTVLive, “God I hope so…”

It appears some of the folks in Cleveland wouldn’t mind seeing that change.
