Newsy Launches
Scripps has launched their national over-the-air cable news channel.
Newsy becomes the nation’s only free 24/7 broadcast news network today, available to more than 90% of U.S. television homes.
Newsy is based out of Atlanta with 14 news bureaus across the country.
News began as a streaming service back in 2008 and Scripps has decided to make the channel available over the air.
“Newsy is positioned to accurately inform the public at scale with unmatched accessibility,” said Eric Ludgood, head of Newsy. “We will give the American people facts and in-depth information so they can better understand the events that shape their lives. We’re not going to tell them what to think. They can make up their own minds.”
While the concept seems sound, whether anyone will find it or watch it remains to be seen.
