Nexstar's Shrewd Move?
Word is that Nexstar has filed and application to move the transmitter tower of WDVM, Hagerstown (Washington DMA) from a point west of Hagerstown to a mountain top 40 miles away which is just 30 miles from the Washington, DC beltway.
Why?
By moving the transmitter closer to DC, it will invoke the “must carry” rules on all the DC cable and satellite systems.
Also, I would not be surprised with Nexstar did not air News Nation on the station after the transmitter move.
Lastly, sources tell FTVLive that Nexstar (or sidecar Mission) is sniffing around the Atlanta market.
It seems that Uncle Perry wants to have a station in The A-T-L.
He might be able to get Meredith’s train-wreck of a station, WGCL at a good price?
But, my guess is that Meredith will only include WGCL is a deal to sell all their stations.
Stay tuned….
