Getting Out Before the Sale
It is never fun when your station is sold.
You don’t know how the new owners operate and you know that there are going to be changes.
It appears that WEEK (Peoria) General Manager Mark DeSantis is going to get out before the sale goes down.
WEEK is owned by Quincy Media and the company is looking to sell off its stations.
DeSantis has been at the station for 23 years and he says he is going to retire.
“I have enjoyed every minute of my time at WEEK-TV and in the broadcast industry to include working with some of the best in the business,” DeSantis said. “It has been my honor to serve with a talented and dedicated staff and truly great management team. We are particularly proud of our track record of rating and revenue success at WEEK, as well as the more recent growth on the ABC side. I thank Quincy Media for the incredible investment in this great broadcast facility to help make that possible. That work is now done, and I’m ready for the next chapter in my life.”
No word yet on who’s buying Quincy, but one of the first things I would do as the new owner is change the call letters of WEEK-TV.
Just saying….
