Stretched Thin in DC
With the pandemic taking a hit to media companies, a number of them have instituted layoffs as the money coming into the station has shrank.
In DC, NBC owns local station WRC and also the Spanish broadcaster Telemundo 44.
As the pandemic dragged on, it appears that NBC decided to gut the Telemundo station as to not impact WRC as much.
Now the people left at Telemundo 44 are stretched so thin, many employees are having trouble dealing with the workload.
The DC chapter of the SAG-AFTRA union has penned a letter to WRC/Telemundo GM Jackie Bradford and News Director Mike Goldrick.
