The NY Times reports that Fox News settled with the family of Seth Rich for over a 7 figure dollar amount.

Fox hosts including Sean Hannity and Lou Dobbs made claims over and over that Seth Rich was murdered for his involvement in leaking D.N.C. emails during the 2016 presidential campaign.

Rich was not involved in the email scandal in any way, but it did not stop Hannity, Dobbs, and others from promoting the false narrative.

The Times says that Fox News decided to settle just as Dobbs and Sean Hannity, were set to be questioned under oath in the case, a potentially embarrassing moment for the network.

Fox paid out millions of dollars and according to the Times, the network also insisted that the settlement had to be kept secret for a month — until after the Nov. 3 election.

The exhausted plaintiffs agreed.

The Times writes:

Why did Fox care about keeping the Rich settlement secret for the final month of the Trump re-election campaign? Why was it important to the company, which calls itself a news organization, that one of the biggest lies of the Trump era remain unresolved for that period? Was Fox afraid that admitting it was wrong would incite the president’s wrath? Did network executives fear backlash from their increasingly radicalized audience, which has been gravitating to other conservative outlets?

Those are all interesting questions, but what is more interesting to FTVLive is this. Sean Hannity and Lou Dobbs went on the network and peddled false information over and over again. The network paid out millions to settle the case and both these guys still have a job.

How? Why?
