Back After Losing
This is a bit of a strange story if you ask us….
KRQE Weather Anchor Mark Ronchetti signed off from the Nexstar station so he could make a run for the U.S. Senate.
Ronchetti ran as a Trump-supporting Republican and he got beat badly at the polls.
This week, he returned to the station as the Weather Anchor.
When Ronchetti left to chase his political dream, Grant Tosterud replaced Ronchetti at KRQE and had showed he was very good and capable of doing the job.
Then Ronchetti wanted his old job back and Tosterud was kicked out of the chair and Ronchetti was back in his old job.
Some Albuquerque viewers were stunned when they turned on KRQE Monday night and Grant was gone and smiling Ronchetti back doing the weather.
One station insider said that it was the plan all along if Ronchetti lost.
But, it seems that doing the weather is not Ronchetti’s passion and clearly he wanted to do something else. Tosterud got the chance to step up, did the job and now he is screwed because Ronchetti lost an election.
I don’t know about you, but I don’t think this seems ver fair.
Also, if I was running a TV station, I would want someone doing the job that they wanted to do, not their second choice.
Just saying….
