FTVLive has been telling you about the ratings for Nexstar’s News Nation and the massive drop off they see by the time the 3rd hour of the newscast rolls around.

One TV insider emailed FTVLive and offered up his fix for NN.

They need to hire a national on-air talent to front the newscast to make it work.

There are a few B-C list anchors out there that are looking for work that the public knows of, why Nexstar doesn't reach out to them is stupid as they would do it just to get the eye of networks again.

The third hour or second should be a Larry King Style interview hour. The NewsNation  block has to kind of be treated like the Today Show at night.

I always wished that CNN would merge their primetime into one large night time Today show (American Evening)  vs the talking head panel bit where it's an overview on the day vs politics.

I think NewsNation could've been this but the execution was DOA with a lack of a semi well known respected person or co-anchors leading it.

Like for example Ashleigh Banfield while not a fresh personality is known enough and was looking for work. But maybe NewsNation doesn't need to be fixed we just need CNN to be fixed.
