People start following others on Twitter because they want to be informed, or they like the content that the account is posting.

News departments have social media accounts to help keep their viewers informed.

Unless of course, you are the Nexstar station in Little Rock.

Over and over again the sales department at KARK is using the news department’s social media to post commercials.

I don’t think viewers are following KARK News only to be bombarded with ads.

I can tell you, if I was the News Director at KARK, I would be changing the Twitter password on the news department’s account and making sure that no one in sales had access to it.
