While cuts have been happening this week at NBC owned properties across the country it appears that the mothership is about to get clipped as well.

Word is that NBC is looking to cut 3% of the workforce at NBC News. That includes staff at NBC Nightly News and The Today Show.

The New York Post reports that that long-term producer Jackie Levin, who helmed the 9 a.m. hour of “Today,” has accepted a buyout. She’s leaving the network after 26 years.

When this is all said and done it is expected that NBC/Universal will put over 3000 people out of work at their properties.

An NBCUniversal spokesperson confirmed the layoffs and said they were the result of company restructuring as well as the pandemic.

“Restructuring”….have you ever noticed that the bosses never seem to be part of the restructuring?
