Sinclair Waits to Chime In
Brennaman was suspended by the Reds (who he works for) and the team released a statement on Wednesday night.
Early Thursday morning, Sinclair which owns Fox Sports Ohio, the station in which the game was broadcast, chimed in with their statement which basically mirrored the Reds.
Since this despicable word when out of their air, you would have hoped that Sinclair would have chimed in sooner.
But as one insider that works at Fox Sports Ohio said, “there is no way Sinclair is going to do anything that might make the Reds angry.” The insider says that Sinclair knows that without the Reds, the channel would go belly up.
Sinclair could have demanded that the Reds fire Brennaman, but instead they waited for the team to issue a statement and then they just parroted what the team said.
Lisa Guerrero who spent years in sports broadcasting says that this incident is par for the course:
Maybe it is a time that Sinclair, instead of following, take the lead. They can address the issue and try and make a change.
I think they should start by calling on the Reds to fire Thom Brennaman.
Just saying….
