Yesterday, FTVLive told you how WLWT (Cincinnati) Reporter Dan Griffin was reporting at a police-involved shooting scene and he was doing so wearing a very colorful mask, which was distracting, to say the least.

Griffin emailed FTVLive, explained what happened, and promised it won’t happen again.

I will say that it is refreshing to see a TV talent not get all defensive admit their mistake, learn from it, and move on.

Props to Griffin for doing just that.

Scott,
I couldn’t find a clean, regular white mask in my bag/car before I rushed off and just grabbed what I had.

I stocked up on extras today.

Everything happened pretty quick, as you well know news does, and we were all crammed together so I tried to wear a mask to be responsible.

Don’t worry, it won’t happen again and I feel bad if anyone thought it was a clown mask. It was, indeed, a Chicago pride mask.
