It was big news when Fox bought the rights to cover the US Open golf on their network.

Fox was not a player when it came to golf coverage and it really showed when they tried to broadcast the open. The first one was barely watchable and although they did get better, the network lagged far behind CBS and NBC when it came to golf coverage.

NBC had broadcast the US Open for years, before Fox took the rights. But now, NBC is getting the Open rights back as Fox has opted out just a few years into their 12 year contract.

That my friends is good news for golf fans.
