Back in April FTVLive told you that WCNC (Charlotte) Chief Meteorologist Brad Panovich was covering severe weather on his Facebook feed.

He was not on air, because the nasty weather hot while Panovich was furloughed from the Tegna station.

In the story we posted, we noted that Tegna staffers are told that when they are furloughed they are not allowed to work in any capacity, including social media.

So, we wondered that since Panovich was giving weather information over Facebook, wasn’t he violating the Tegna furlough rules?

It appears that Tegna believes that he was and now he has been furloughed again this week.

FTVLive has obtained the WCNC schedule and it shows that Panovich is off this week again on furlough along with Anchor Sarah French and Executive Producer Kristy Nation.

So, basically, Panovich went on Facebook live to help keep viewers safe and Tegna gave him another week of furlough.

As the old saying goes, no good deed goes unpunished.
