You would think that with all that is happening in the world, one of the most important jobs in network journalism right now would be the White House Correspondent.

 So, you might be surprised that in their cutbacks, CBS News decided that White House Correspondent Mark Knoller is one of those that needed to be cut from the payroll.

Knoller confirmed he was laid off from the news organization, though he will be on the job until the end of July.

“Not a mistake. I got a layoff notice. I will be on the job through the end of July. Will see what happens then,” he told the Washington Examiner.

Knoller has been at CBS News for 32 years.

32 years of experience walks out the door at CBS, just so they can save a few bucks.

So sad.
