There is a big wildfire burning out of control in the Tucson area and a number of TV stations transmitters sitting atop Mt. Bigelow are right in the fire’s path.

The Bighorn Fire is burning and KGUN is making backup plans as it does so.

KGUN engineers have been preparing for the possible loss of that tower by configuring the tower of sister-station, KWBA The CW Tucson, to carry their KGUN signal should the need arise.

The stations says that should the fire consume the towers on Mt. Bigelow, their engineers will automatically switch towers so that your reception continues as seamlessly as possible.
