Anchor Loses Dad to COVID-19
Lina Washington is a Sports Anchor/Reporter at Tegna’s KXTV in Sacramento. For her the COVID-19 pandemic has hit home.
Washington’s dad Robert Washington Jr. went back to work at a small Arizona casino. He needed to go back to work to help pay for medicine that he used.
He worked security at the casino and as someone with preexisting conditions, he was told he could drive a golf cart around the perimeter of the casino and have limited interaction with customers.
But, his family says that the casino was posted at the door instead.
Washington was diagnosed with COVID-19 five days later. Symptoms began appearing shortly after; he was hospitalized and later died on June 11.
