The Republican National Committee has decided to come to Jacksonville on short notice with their national convention.

It’s a smart move considering the fact that Florida might be the state that decides this election just like they have been in the past.

One Twitter poster thought that by the convention coming to FTVLive’s backyard, I would be all bent out of shape.

Why would I lose my shit? I’ve never lost my shit before.

For me this is great.

First off, I don’t live in Jacksonville, I live near Jacksonville.

Second, this is going to be great news for a number of local businesses here on the First Coast and a big boom to the local economy.

Third, some of my best friends that are Republicans (I’m an Independent) will be coming to town and I will get the chance to see them.

Fourth, a number of my TV news friends will also be in town to cover it and I hope I get the chance to see them and maybe meet a few new people.

I’m looking forward to the convention, I know Jax doesn’t have much time to prepare for it, but I hope that can pull it off and it will be a great success.

Sorry to disappoint you, but I promise, I’ll try to lose my shit somewhere else.
