I wanted to ask where you see the line being drawn? Most journalists are quick to speak out and stand up against the targeting of the press.
Why does the Black community deserve less than our fellow journalists. For years, we’ve quoted police reports as gospel, and used passive voice to downplay wrongdoing.
Journalists allegiance belongs to the truth... not to some ethereal sociopolitical balance. The great journalists, the ones who the schools and awards are named after, took a stand when it was warranted. It is warranted now?
Marching probably isn’t the best way to do this, but many companies aren’t brave enough to do the kind of reporting that exposes the problems that spark these protests.
That to me is the story.
