That's Nice.....BUT

The Laurel newspaper did a story about NBC donating money to nonprofits. The story says that Comcast NBCUniversal Foundation and the NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations division are awarding Project Innovation grants to 69 organizations in 11 markets that are using innovation to tackle everyday problems and urgent COVID-19 needs in their communities.

WVIT and other NBC O&O’s were given over a total of over $2 million bucks to share with charities and groups in their market.

This is good news and it is nice to see NBC and their owned station giving out money.

But, with NBC cutting employees’ paychecks and a number of O&O’s getting ready to layoff staff, doesn’t it seem to make sense to keep that money for your own employees?

I’m all for giving money to organizations, but I’m not sure that should be done at the expense of your own staff.

Do you?

Just asking….
