A staffer at Meredith’s KVVU in Las Vegas says the station is adding another newscast, but their not sure if the station has the resources.

The station added a new 1 PM newscast yesterday and one staffer says it is putting more stress on an already stressed newsroom.

This is happening, “with 85 percent of staff working from home. With only one producer in the control room for every show: 4, 5, 6, 10, and 11,” says our insider.

“Those still working at the building are stretched thin, worried about work AND contracting COVID-19 from a station dangerously low on Clorox wipes and Lysol spray. Plus, no gloves to be seen,” says the insider, “Meredith Corp is allegedly sending masks, but those are nowhere to be found and who knows if those of us still working here will be given any,”

Adding more news for viewers is great at a time like this, but doing so without adding bodies is not the way to do it.

Crews are already stressed out and working in conditions never seen before, asking them to do more with no more people are adding to that stress.
