Tegna Sacks Anchor After Stroke
/KUSA Anchor Kristen Aguirre suffered a stroke about a year ago.
The Tegna station did stories on her suffering an ischemic stroke and her recovery during the November ratings book. It made a great ratings story about one of their own, which has basically become a TV news staple.
So, what is the latest on Aguirre?
Well, KUSA decided to fire her and tell her that she is no longer up to the “9 News standards.”
We’re not sure what those “standards” are, but I guess having a stroke doesn’t meet them.
Aguirre talked about getting the blade from Tegna on a post on Instagram.
She seems to be handling the firing well and good for her for doing so.
As for Tegna?
Well….. I’ll let you guys decide that one.
