The Inbox...
A former CBS employee wonders why CBS News is farming out their weekend newscast to affiliates, but they are not surprised.
They talk about what it was like working at The Eye for about a decade:
I was tired of needing to do more with less, expectation of always being accessible by text or email, inability to accept my family came before my job. It wasn’t worth it.
The CBS culture was a facade.. Pretend to care about employees (bonus days off in the summer, policies no one ever enforced) but continue to ask more more more.
CBSN at the local level—- are you serious? That’s a workload that is killing stations.
Now they’re farming out their newscasts, but instead of rewarding O&O producers and reporters and photographers and anchors they’re having affiliates get the screen time?
Why????????
Also, a viewer that is trying to get in contact with CBS Anchor Norah O’Donnell reached out to us and asked us this pass this along to her.
So, here we go:
Hello, I want to send Norah O’Donnell a text, but I don’t have a smart phone that will allow me to do that. I want to send her an e-mail, but I don’t know if this address will reach her. Below is the message that I am trying to send; Can you help me send it to her?
Thank you very much! Carol Johnson Collins Dear Norah, I love what you bring to The CBS Evening News. I watch every night. Thank you for the hard work you do to report in an unbiased way the most important news items. On April 20th you invited us to share our stories with you by texting you. On the same day as your invitation, I wrote an article that I want to share with you. I don’t have the ability to text, so I’m e-mailing instead. Attached is the article. It’s an idea that might help others in this unprecedented time.
My Very Best Wishes for Good Health!
Sincerely,
Carol Johnson Collins
