Where Did They Go?
While President Trump downplayed the coronavirus until the moment it came knocking on the White House door, so did a number of TV news people.
FTVLive has watched people in and around TV news quietly taking down posts on Facebook and other social media in which they downplayed COVID-19.
Many said that it was “nothing more than the flu”, or “the flu kills more people”, or they posted how people were “panicking” for no reason.
Now as the coronavirus will pass a million confirmed cases later today (you bet that real number is much, much higher) and ahs topped 100,000 cases here in the United States, those Facebook posts are quietly being taken down.
Here in Florida, Governor Ron DeSantis finally issued a stay at home order, something that he should have done weeks ago. Florida is just days away from getting hit really hard and the death toll is going to rapidly increase.
You people that downplayed this virus had a hand in helping it spread. Your posts that “it’s just the flu” and “the flu kills more people” were read by many that might have looked up to you and believed you and what you were saying.
Now, so you don’t look bad, you are deleting the posts that you should have thought about before posting in the first place.
The United States is in a crisis from a health standpoint and a financial standpoint, and one of the main reasons was because so many people did not take COVID-19 seriously.
The virus was coming here no matter what, but the downplaying and lack of action has made it much worse than it had to be.
Go ahead and delete your posts from a few weeks ago, but the damage is done.
Maybe next time, Instead of trying to get “engagement” on your social media, you will think before you post.
Just saying…
