Tonight and tomorrow, the CBS Evening News weekend edition will be anchored by WGCL (Atlanta) Atlanta anchors Rick Folbaum and Shon Gables.

Yep, the last place network newscast will be fronted by the anchors at the last place station in the Atlanta market.

For some reason, the CBS News Broadcast Center in New York is STILL closed due to the fact that some CBS employees tested positive for the coronavirus weeks ago.

The newscast will be produced remotely with producers and writers based out of New York.

“We are thrilled that CBS46, and particularly Shon and Rick, will be part of this historic and innovative collaboration with the CBS Weekend News,” said WGCL GM Lyle Banks. “We are grateful to CBS News for the opportunity to showcase Shon and Rick, who are immensely trusted and respected by Atlanta’s news viewers.”

And yes, this is the same Shon Gables that works in Georgia, but could not find it on a map.

God, I wish I was making that part up.
