Scripps Management Takes Pay Cuts, Employees Do Not
You want to see the difference between a company like Tegna and a company like Scripps?
Yesterday, Scripps CEO Adam Symson emailed the employees and said that he and other top company management were taking pay cuts and that the company would donate the amount of the cuts to the Scripps Howard Foundation employee fund.
“We have significantly tightened our belt to help us manage the current economic climate with as little impact to our employees as possible,” Symson said in the email.
He added, “We will continue to do everything we can to avoid impacting our employees further.”
In other words, Scripps is really trying to not impact their employees financially and if it does happen, it will be the last resort.
It appears when it came to Tegna, it was their first choice.
