Judge Tosses Weatherman's Lawsuit
Fired WHEC meteorologist Jeremy Kappell got a bit more bad news this week.
You may remember that Kappell was fired from the Rochester station after saying the words "Martin Luther coon King Junior park”.
He then spent days trying to defend himself and claiming that others made the same mistake.
He also sued his former station and the Mayor of Rochester, which we pointed out was not a very good idea.
Well, a NY Supreme Court judge dismissed the two lawsuits, saying that Kappell's "utterance" of the racial slur was "detrimental" to WHEC and "contrary to public morals and conventions."
Kappell has a right to appeal the ruling.
He should not, but somehow we get the feeling he will.
