Fox News Benches Anchor
While Sean Hannity continues to refer to the coronavirus as “like the flu” and downplay how dangerous it is, Fox Business has benched one of their Anchors for downplaying the virus.
The NY Times reports that Fox Business has pulled Trish Regan from the air after the Trump-supporting Anchor dismissed the coronavirus as “another attempt to impeach the president.”
“Trish Regan Primetime,” is “on hiatus until further notice,” Fox Business said in a statement.
Fox Business attributed the move to “the demands of the evolving pandemic crisis coverage,” saying it was shifting resources toward daytime coverage of the pandemic and global markets. Both “Trish Regan Primetime” and its follow-up at 9, “Kennedy,” will be replaced by general-interest programs.
Regan has consistently sucked up to Trump and some inside Fox thinks her latest rant is what got her yanked.
In front of a graphic reading, “Coronavirus Impeachment Hoax,” she accused Democrats of creating “mass hysteria to encourage a market sell-off” and sowing fear about the virus “to demonize and destroy the president.”
Fox News continues to let Hannity and others like Ainsley Earhardt who have downplayed the pandemic to continue to appear on their shows.
