Nothing From Nexstar?
A news manager at a Nexstar station said that he has heard nothing from the company in regards to the coronavirus.
Word is that Nexstar has not put out a memo to their employees, but has issued a memo to GM’s.
“Shouldn’t the largest station owner at least send out something to give us some guidance?” the employee asked.
But, another Nexstar insider said that a memo was issued to the General Managers and there was guidance and stations are dealing with the coronavirus on an individual basis.
It does seem that Nexstar corporate should issue some information on dealing with PTO days and if employees that have to quarantine will be paid for all the days or not?
But, also the fact that Nexstar is letting individual stations form their own plans might be wise since different parts of the country are different situations.
Some stations are located in “hot zones” while other stations are in markets that have yet to have a positive test.
This is uncharted territory for everyone and no one can say which way is the right way?
But, employees need to know that the company has their back. Nexstar CEO Perry Sook should at least email out something to that effect.
Just saying…
