Word is that a Journalist that attended the IRE and NICAR conference held over the weekend in New Orleans is believed to have the coronavirus.

“IRE is notifying conference attendees now so that individuals can make their own decisions on how best to proceed,” the organization said in a news release, saying it has sought guidance from the CDC.

A number of newsrooms that sent staffers to the conference are now having those people stay home as a precaution.

One of those stations is Tegna’s WUSA in DC.
