The Feb book is over and somehow we all survived the things that the local news told could kill us.

But now in local news, rarely are the stories about us the viewers and more about the people that are supposed to bring us the news.

All about me TV is the norm nowadays, as the people on TV tell us about their depression, addictions, and health scares.

Before the book ended, KTVK (Phoenix) Reporter Jaime Cerreta bravely went on the air and tell us that she was this/close to going blind.

Cerreta was dealing with a detached retina which thousands of people deal with every day, but the station didn’t talk to those people, this was all about Jamie.

She says that she had to “rely on that laser to save my vision.”

The laser treatment takes about 20 minutes and Cerreta said that she, "found myself whimpering through the procedure.”

The story was about her, but it also sort of seemed like an infomercial for Arizona Retina and Vitreous Consultants in Phoenix. She talked about how the doctors would not go home until every patient was seen and how no one seemed in a rush.

Yep, the book is over, but May is right around the corner and you can expect that your favorite TV news person will be sure to share all the details of whatever they are dealing with.

Of course, if that Anchor or Reporter is fired before the May book, don’t expect the station to say anything.

Because, during sweeps, we give you every detail about their life and their battle with the bottle, depression or the deep details on their cancer treatment. Outside of sweeps, “We don’t talk about personnel issues.”
