When I was a kid, my favorite Reporter on TV was WKBW Feature Reporter Don Polec.

When it came to feature reporting, there was Don Polec and then everyone else. He was the gold standard and he did not stick around long before WPVI in Philly snatched him up and he worked for years and years.

But, Don Polec has been very sick lately and he has been one of the thousands of people sitting on a list, waiting for Kidney to be transplanted in their body.

This week, Don and his family got the news they have been waiting for.

His wife sent out this email to family and friends and we thought we would share it with you.

Great day today filled with miracles.

My sweet hubby Donald J Polec received a donor kidney early this morning! Thank you to the brilliant Dr. Liu at Leigh High Hospital in Allentown, PA. What a fabulous place with an amazing staff!

Thank you also to the generous donor - please pray for them, their family and friends.

Please also continue to keep Don in your prayers. He needs the new donor kidney to be accepted by his body and to also wake up! I will keep you all posted.
