It's a Go for BNC
While it appears that the Black News Channel is not doing much to update their website, they did get the channel on the air and we were able to watch a bit of it.
While the channel is having a few growing pains, the set that they are broadcast from looks really, really good.
We found out that the set was designed and built by Devlin Design Group.
“The set facilitates an intimate conversation between us and our viewers. We can use the variety of performance areas to do a deep dive into stories that reach and engage our urban audience. The design reflects BNC’s commitment to serve the African American community.” said Gary Wordlaw. Black News Channel, Vice President of News and Programming.
We love the colors and lighting used in the set, making it really pop off the screen.
“Capturing the culturally unique spirit of BNC was the inspiration in creating the flexible contemporary scenic storytelling environment and virtual sets. The team at BNC wanted something different that would relate to their audience and programming… not traditional news sets. We were excited for the opportunity to rise to the challenge.” said Kartik Dakshinamoorthy, Devlin Design Group, Vice President and Scenic Design Director.
You can see looking at the BNC set, they have a number of options and areas to use to bring the news to their viewers.
The set is based in Tallahassee, Florida and BNC is using bureaus scattered across the country.
The startup is busy looking for more cable clearance and sponsors, but launching right now should bring them a boatload of campaign cash.
