Shame on You!
A KRQE Reporter was covering a story at the State House in Santa Fe, when state senators kicked her and her camera out of a public meeting.
KRQE Reporter Rachel Knapp was doing what Reporters across the country each and ever day. She was covering the politicians meeting and talking about bills that impact the viewers.
But, the politicians decided that Knapp and her camera needed to leave the proceedings.
Republican Sen. Pat Woods announced he had a problem with the camera, saying< “There’s adequate ways this footage can be gotten in other ways,” said Sen. Woods. “I just prefer this not to be spliced and edited to be used against someone and have someone not be totally truthful in their comments in a bill because they’re worried how something might be splashed and cut in a newscast.”
Knapp was then told to leave.
We can only hope that KRQE files a lawsuit and that people like Se. Woods and the others will told that this is not Russia (yet) and that the media has every right to be in a public meeting.
Hard to believe that crap like this happens in 2020.
Here is the station’s story on the incident…
